Keeping Points Off Your Driving Record

We will access your driving record and conduct a full review of your history and the details of your present charge. We will discuss your personal circumstances to find if there are any important details in your story that can help your case. After considering your situation in full, we will negotiate with prosecutors to try to work out a plea bargain that reduces your penalties, avoids a license revocation, keeps the points off your license and keeps your insurance rates from rising.

North Carolina's "Prayer for Judgment Continued"

A "prayer for judgment continued" is a disposition after a plea of guilty where the judge suspends entering a judgment in the case. In traffic cases, a "PJC" essentially keeps any insurance or driver's license points from accruing on your record for the underlying offense. Only one PJC can be granted per household every three years; a second PJC can be used within five years for driver's license points purposes only. Judges will often require that the offender complete a defensive driving course or community service in order to earn a PJC.

If you have received a traffic ticket and would like to learn more about your options, contact our offices any time. We look forward to hearing from you.
